Your location is the starting point
The map begins at your location. Choose map or satellite view and identify your Echoes by their color. Search, profiles and discovery return only content you are authorized to see.
Choose your return rhythm
For an Echo you have opened, choose hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly or permanent personal reopening. Every personal reopening requires returning to its location. The creator’s audience and lifetime rules still apply.
Notice what is nearby
Optional arrival alerts remind you of Echoes you are authorized to see at their locations. Foreground and background delivery depend on permissions, connectivity and operating-system conditions. An alert on every arrival is not guaranteed.
Place leadership follows visits
A place leader ranks highest in eligible visit days over the last 90 days. At most one visit day counts per place per UTC day. Another person with a higher count can become the leader. This does not confer property rights.
Safety is part of sharing
With your explicit choice, OpenAI content safety screening can publish eligible Echoes automatically. Harmful content is blocked; uncertain results and appeals go to authorized human moderators. Reporting and blocking tools remain available.
Echochain connects memories
Opt in with a photo, find older visual suggestions among photos you are authorized to open, and compare them with two-dimensional alignment. Confirm or reject the suggestion. Links are never automatic, and similarity is not proof of location.
AR where supported
Explore spatial Echoes in the camera view on supported devices with sufficient localization quality. Camera and precise-location permissions are required. Map and 2D photo comparison are available when support or quality is insufficient.
SuperEcho brings floors into context
Echoes tied to registered real building boundaries and floor data. A current location and your floor confirmation restrict access; changing floors requires reconfirmation. Floor estimates and AR do not guarantee physical accuracy.
Charmecho is optional local participation
Local rankings, rings and free virtual Charm gifts for phone-verified, opted-in members aged 18 or over. No purchases or cash redemption. Local leadership grants no property or permanent content deletion rights.
Stories across languages
Optional translation and place summaries use only texts you are authorized to open. Sending text to OpenAI is a separate choice, and results can be inaccurate. Hidden and sealed Echo text is excluded.
Privacy is an everyday choice
Manage audience, discoverability, notifications and local participation. Contact matching does not upload raw address-book numbers or names. Member-to-member private messaging is not offered.

What is an Echo?
Text, a photo, audio or video attached to a location. The creator sets the audience and opening rules. An Echo may become accessible now, later, or on a chosen schedule.
Do I have to visit the place for every Echo?
A fresh location fix is checked when the creator requires opening on site. Some Echoes allow opening from anywhere. If you choose a personal reopening schedule, each reopening requires returning to the Echo’s location.
Does personal reopening change the content?
No. It changes only your reopening rhythm. The creator, audience and expiry remain unchanged. It cannot reopen an Echo that has been deleted or that you can no longer access.
What does being a place leader mean?
Leading a ranking of eligible visit days at a place over the last 90 days. It is not ownership, a deed claim, or authority to operate the place. Someone with a higher visit count can become the leader.
Does an Echo publish immediately?
When you explicitly choose automatic safety screening, eligible content can publish according to its time and audience rules. Uncertain content or screening without a result waits for human review. You can appeal an adverse decision in the app.
Do AR and floor features work everywhere?
No. Device support, localization quality and registered building data are required. Map or two-dimensional photo comparison is available when those requirements are not met. These are not navigation or physical safety services.
Is Charmecho paid? Are there private messages?
Charmecho is optional and for verified members aged 18 or over. Charm units are free, virtual and have no monetary value. They cannot be purchased or redeemed for cash. Member-to-member private messaging is not offered.
How do I manage my account?
Change profile, permissions, audience and notifications in the app, or delete your account. One account has one active device: a new sign-in closes the previous session. If you cannot access the app, use support or the account deletion page.
